A lonely man confronts the memory of his deceased parents as he strikes up a love affair with a fellow resident in his apartment block.
Andrew Haigh’s glorious, ghostly drama was one of the standout British films 2024. Loosely based on the novel Strangers by Taichi Yamada, it stars Andrew Scott, Paul Mescal, Jamie Bell and Claire Foy. Filmed partly in Sanderstead in South London, the film also features the Whitgift Centre in Croydon.
